In 1995 a new Flipper TV show came out. The TV show takes place in and
around near Bal
Harbor, Florida. The TV show is centered around the Bal Harbor Institute.
For the second and
Fourth seasons they added the Monroe County Search & Rescue Sheriffs
substation. Flipper is
involved in many Rescues. This show ran in The United States, in syndication
during the 1995-1996 &
96-97 seasons. The TV Show did not run on TV during the 97-98 season.
However Pax TV ran
new episodes of Flipper during the 1998-1999 season. Paxtv is currently
airing the fourth and
final season of Flipper. In Canada YTV
is currently airing episodes of all four seasons of Flipper.
One of television’s most enduring and beloved characters, the
amazing dolphin Flipper, returns for all-new episodes of this thrilling
family adventure series starring Whip Hubley as “Tom Hampton” -
the Deputy Search and Rescue Sheriff.
Set in glorious and exotic locales including the beautiful Florida
Keys, each episode explores our timeless fascination and
relationship with dolphins. Flipper follows the activities of a group
of
ocean scientists at a marine mammal research facility where
ground-breaking studies are being conducted on dolphin behavior
and other marine life.
The Institute, located near the Search & Rescue Sheriff’s
Substation, sets the stage for highly dramatic air and sea rescues
involving Flipper and his human companions. The facility and its
inhabitants face some of their greatest triumphs and defeats in a
series of episodes that will take them - and the audience - on the
adventure of a lifetime.
